Update on the Antonio L. Minnifield Community Care and Action Fund Impact

We are thrilled to share how the Antonio L. Minnifield Community Care and Action Fund (ALM CCA Fund) has made a meaningful impact through its support of the Parent Support Fund: Holiday Edition 2024, organized by BEAM (Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective).
This initiative provided $15,000 in monetary support to Black and marginalized parents and caregivers living with mental health conditions or supporting children with mental health challenges. Each recipient received up to $250 to help address immediate needs, fostering both economic and emotional well-being during the holiday season.

About BEAM
BEAM is a national training, movement-building, and grant-making organization dedicated to dismantling mental health barriers for Black communities. Their work includes providing resources, training, and funding to ensure that Black individuals and families can access tools for emotional wellness, healing, and mental health support. BEAM’s approach emphasizes healing justice and addresses systemic issues that often prevent Black and marginalized communities from receiving adequate care.

The ALM CCA Fund’s Contribution
The Parent Support Fund was partially funded by a generous donation from the ALM CCA Fund in honor of Antonio L. Minnifield’s life and legacy. Antonio’s passion for community care and healing continues to inspire us, and this partnership with BEAM is a testament to his values of compassion, love, and liberation. Through these efforts, we are proud to uplift families, promote mental health resources, and honor Antonio’s enduring vision.

Minnifield Community Care and Action Fund (ALM CCA Fund). Antonio’s legacy is one of love, unity, and boundless compassion, and this fund is dedicated to fostering the values he held dear—sustaining and uplifting communities through mutual aid, behavioral health support, and healing justice.

The ALM CCA Fund is a grassroots mutual aid initiative supporting community liberation and well-being. It is built on Antonio’s belief in the power of community to address systemic inequities, especially in the areas of mental health and healing. We strive to create a world where all Black people are safe and empowered to exercise Kujichagulia, or self-determination, over their lives.

The ALM CCA Fund focuses on amplifying these strengths and addressing critical gaps, particularly for those who are under-resourced. Through mutual aid, we connect individuals and families with resources, training, and financial support to foster healing and liberation.
